Why curls drop

Hair has a nature of setting in the shape it takes as it dries. Pull it while wet as it dries and the curl loosens
Some hair holds a curl easily and some lets it go, depending on the hair itself
Fine, soft hair and long hair with weight are said to drop more readily

Drying that protects the curl

• · Towel-dry gently, taking the water out as if squeezing the curl
• · Use the dryer on low, lifting from underneath
• · Do not pull, do not stretch. Stop once it is about 80% dry
• · To finish, cup the curl in your palm and squeeze
• · A digital perm shows itself once dry. Drying it differs from a perm that shows in wet hair

Styling products that hold all day

To work with the curl, mousse and curl-specific styling products are your allies
An oil that is too heavy can work against the curl
The bottle you choose changes with whether you want movement, or a firm hold

Frequently asked questions

My perm drops out by the next day. Why?

Usually it is because you pull while drying, or because your hair lets the curl go easily. We suggest two things together: rethinking how you dry it, and a curl-specific styling product

Is care different for a digital perm and an ordinary one?

A digital perm is the kind whose curl shows once dry. The timing of styling differs from an ordinary perm, which shows its shape while wet. Not knowing which you have is no problem for the finder

Can I use oil on a perm?

Too much heavy oil can work against the curl. Starting with a lighter texture, or a curl-specific product, is the safe choice
