Living slowly with
colour that fades

A colour you love shifting little by little is hair simply doing what it does
Even so, small daily habits can change how fast it goes

Three reasons colour fades

The first is washing — pigment runs into the water little by little
The second is heat — a hot iron, or too much dryer, speeds the change
The third is UV — outdoors in summer, or at the sea, fading moves faster
And bleached hair holds pigment weakly to begin with, so it lets go easily

Daily habits that hold colour

Fading is part of the pleasure

A translucent colour is sometimes designed with the fading itself already calculated in
Talking with your stylist about what colour it will fade toward makes colour far more enjoyable

How SEAM thinks

Colour travels across the hair
SEAM wants not only the day it is coloured to be beautiful, but the days as it fades
We build the care from your history and your hair

Frequently asked questions

How many days should I wash gently after colouring?
Hair is said to stay delicate for a few days while the dye settles. Lukewarm water and a gentle wash are the safe choice
Should I use purple shampoo?
Whether it suits you depends on the tone you want and your history. It is most often used against yellowing in high-tone hair, but we suggest first putting your hair now and the colour you want in order, in the finder or at the salon
Does colour last differently between drugstore and salon colour?
The products and how the colour is placed differ, so there can be a gap. Your home-colour history is important information too, so answering honestly in the finder is best
